With the holidays right around the corner, we wanted to see what was going on at Dawn’s Style, We got all the details in this exclusive holiday interview w/ Dawn Bella.
Q. Do you have any special promotions or events planned for the upcoming holiday season?
A. On Saturday November 25, 12:00-2:00ish , We will be honored to have Anne Morse-Hambrock playing her beautiful Harp inside Dawn’s Style. What a beautiful way to kick off the holiday season shopping experience. Stop in and take in her beautiful music and enjoy some hot cider.
Q. What are some of the most popular holiday products or services you offer?
A. Lampe Berger/Mason Berger products are always a great product for the holiday season. Whether it is a gift or a new fragrance for your own pleasure. Mason Berger has added a few new products as well as fragrances for their Lampes. We also carry some car fragrances and reed diffusers (for small places you just want a nice fragrance). The first thing people say when they enter Dawn’s Style is “It smells so great in here”!
We also carry some nice sweaters, winter wraps, hats, gloves, affordable jewelry, PEEPERS readers, Purses, Moroccanoil products (hair and body).
Q. Can you share a memorable holiday story or experience related to your business?
A. As we approached December of 2016 I was just focusing on my hair business, trying to get organized and all of a sudden my shop filled everyday with people. People I knew, and many that came to wish me good luck. I felt the community all around me everyday. As I closed my shop every night, I would turn down the lights and cleaned up. I watched the snow fall through my windows and remembered all my childhood memories of Downtown Kenosha and past Christmases. Seven years now, and many nights I do the same. No matter how the years change, or how big this city grows. Our downtown still feels like a close, small neighborhood that supports all.
Q. What’s is the best gift you’ve ever received?
A. In 1972 I got an 8 track player! Ooooh yeah! I was so cool then….I could jam in my bedroom to 8 tracks. My parents went to Topps store and picked out some awesome tapes. Most were THE BEST OF!!!!!
Q. Do you have any tips for finding the perfect holiday gift?
A. Finding the perfect gift is sometimes challenging. People usually buy what they want these days. So, I have found that just wandering in small shops and when something calls out to you, that is usually the special sign to buy it. Remember it is a gift, and should be something special .
Q. What is the best way to stay updated on your holiday hours?
A. The best way to stay updated on our holiday hours is to look on Instagram or FB (Dawn’s Style) We also put weekly hours on a chalkboard hanging in our front window.
Q. What do you love about the holiday season in Downtown Kenosha?
A. There is always something going on! Really! I can barely keep up. I have a hard time attending events because I am in my shop. Everyone in Kenosha should have a copy of the Go Downtown Kenosha Magazine in their home. Every night some business has an event, whether it is a food , music, sale or art!
